it is a cloudy, wet thursday morning. lots of w stuff out there and tom will tell us whether it's going to be drying up. it doesn't look like it, tom. >> not right now, anyway. we're going to have rain and drizzle throughout the morning commute. grab the umbrella before you head off to work and school. right now, we have showers advancing from south to north and a line that stretches from southern virginia up into maryland and into pennsylvania. that line has some embedded heavy downpours. those areas of dark red and orange, those are zones of some moderate to heavy rain. right now on the fairfax and montgomery county line, right over the potomac river near great falls and then right across the line into montana dpomry county, that shower, maybe thunder and lightning, that's advancing to the north. there's another pocket of moderate rain farther to the south in southeastern faulkier county. that's advancing through prince william over the next 10 or 15 minutes. temperatures in the region are down into the low to mid 60s, it's a cool morning. generally from the blue ridge west it

the dax is down almost 2% and u.s. futures down almost 50 points. >>> new from overnight, we just learned police have one suspect in custody in connection with a double stabbing in the district. a man and woman were stabbed shortly after midnight in the 3200 block of connecticut avenue northwest. our crew was on the scene as police searched for clues. no word on what led to that stabbing or how seriously the victims were injured. >>> the search is on for the body of a missing woman after a plane crashed in the chesapeake bay. the plane crashed within three miles of smith island. the pilot and his elderly mother were on board. the pilot told police the two did make it out of the plane before it sank, but his mother died while they were in the water. the pilot was taken to the hospital. he's expected to make a full recovery. >>> the dulles rail project is reportedly as much as six months behind schedule despite project leaders saying it is on time. tell us the suspect drove a public bus and had many secrets. tracee wilkins is live in gaithersburg now with more on this story. tracee, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, eun. one of his many secrets included that he was married to several women at one time, according to investigators, who have shared that information with news 4. police arrested 42-year-old david rich hang, the stepfather of jessica nguyen, yesterday. he's now in custody facing charges for first degree murder. sources tell us hang was married to several women at the same time and was in the process of divorcing nguyen's mother. news 4 has also learned hang works as a driver for the montgomery county ride-on bus system. 12-year-old jessica nguyen was found stabbed to death in the basement of her family's gaithersburg townhome on the evening of may 31st. her grandmother discovered the child's body. friends say that the shy petite girl had often expressed a fear of her stepfather, the man now under arrest for her murder. police have been very tight lipped about this ongoing investigation, but today we're expecting

if things are calmed down now. meteorologist tom kierein here to tell us about the forecast. >> yes, they are, thankfully. don't have any rain or wind. no thunder and lightning right now. we do have a few breaks in the clouds as well. as things settle down overnight in the wake of yesterday's storms, it was certainly welcome. this is what it looked like yesterday afternoon around 5:00. those areas of red and orange, those were the storms that did produce the heavy rains and the small tornadoes that were just south of washington. but the storm decreased in intensity as it got closer to the metro area. it did unload quite a bit of rain that caused high water in most locations. now it's partly cloudy throughout much of north virginia, the district, and northern maryland. partly south and west, it's cloudy. we're getting a few sprinkles in northern fauquier county and much more farther south and west. it's coming our way probably the next two to three hours. right now low to mid-60s throughout most of the metro area. upper 60s near the bay waters and eastern shore. farther west in the 6
